Wolf in the Snow
Wolf in the Snow

What can I say? I’m fond of wolves. This was drawn from one of the many photographs I have on my computer of Canis Lupis, the Timber Wolf. A relatively quick sketch where I wanted to experiment with a different ‘unfinished’ look to my drawings to hopefully give it a little more life, a little more dynamic feel—this came out of the era of my drawing history where I brought out the pencil strokes instead of trying to make them vanish.

Anyway, this came from one of my favorite pictures of a wolf standing in the snow (hence why his paws disappear and the minimal shading around him.) And again, this was more of an experimental sketch than a full-blown render so I didn’t put a lot of effort into positioning him on the paper or rendering (not that you can tell from the cropping) the background accurately.

For what it is, I like the drawing.
